Nyberg is Swedish for New Mountain and Jim picked a hill that could pass for a 'new' mountain when he purchased his property in the 1970s. In the 1980s he built his cabin with help of family and friends. In 1990, Jim retired from his profession as a research entomologist and built the bed and breakfast, realizing his dream of sharing his favorite place with others.

Throughout the building, you'll see Jim's love of wood with walls and ceilings of knotty pine. Skylights, windows, and French doors show Jim's love of natural light. His talents in woodworking also show in the furniture he has crafted.

Jim shares his love of the outdoors and fishing. As he prepares your breakfast of his favorite french toast or his famous buttermilk pancakes, he will offer tips for the days fishing.

Jim & Elaine's favorite dogs are German Wirehair Pointers (GWP), and enjoy the antics of these creatures. In Germany, they were used as Circus Animals as this breed of dogs are highly trainable. Jasper & Crystal reside in house. They both have attended Basic & Advanced Obedience Classes, visited nursing homes, and have worked at local game farms. Crystal's bloodline is from the Afterhour Kennels.
